How Gabby (Filipino, No German, Chancenkarte) Closed the Job Offer with a Proactive One-Pager

In the Brave New Job program, I coach my clients to create a Proactive One-Pager. It’s a simple, one-page document you create to show – not tell – that you can solve the exact problems a company is hiring for.

The typical interview approach is to be the best answerer of questions. That can work, but it’s incredibly difficult, because it’s what everyone is trying to do. One small mistake, one question where another candidate gives a slightly better answer, and you lose the offer.

A more effective approach is to do something different — something that makes them want only you. Don’t try to be the best. Be the only one they want.

Of course, anyone can create a one-pager. But almost no one actually does.

Why? One, it takes more work. Two, and more importantly, because it’s unusual, it feels riskier and scarier. That’s exactly why few people will do it — and exactly why it works. Zag when everyone is zigging.

Here’s my client Gabby, breaking down exactly how he used one to close his first job offer in Germany — and fulfill his dream of moving to Europe.
